Which oil to consume during pregnancy?

Walking in the supermarket aisle, surrounded by a zillion variety of cooking oils and you’re confused on which to pick for you and your unborn?
The moment you conceive, diet becomes an important part but remember to eat right, not more. Fats are a significant part of a healthy diet but again, choosing the right fat is imperative.
It’s time to break the ice!!
From beauty to the kitchen pantry, olive oil seems to take the hot ticket!
A lot has been said about extra virgin olive oil and trust me, it’s worth the hype!
Below are a few reasons listed one why one should consume the same!

MUFA!
MonoUnsaturated Fatty Acids a.k.a MUFA is considered as the ‘good’ fat. Why? Because it has a high content of oleic acid which reduces the bad cholesterol. Olive oil is rich in MUFA and thus it reduces the risk of Heart Attack, improves immune system, etc.
The other sources of MUFA are Nuts and Avocados.

Healthy development of Baby!
Since Olive oil is rich in Omega-3, it plays a great role in the development of the immune system, nervous system and intellectual development of the child. It reduces the risk of potential problems in the child. A recent study also says that the  babies born to women who consumed olive oil during pregnancy had better psycho-motor reflexes.

Immune System!
Olive Oil has a good amount of Vitamin A which is known to protect the immune system and keeps infections at bay. Vitamin A is also linked with healthy eyes and helps forming enhanced vision in the growing baby.

No more Tiger Stripes!
The stretching of the pelvic muscles and expanding abdomen results in stretch marks. Regular application of olive oil lightens the marks.

Vitamin E!
This vitamin has an antioxidant effect which protects the fat from free radicals. Vitamin E also reduces the risk of problems arising in organs of premature babies.

Olive oil has numerous benefits and if you’re someone who alternates their oils even flaxseed oils(rich in PUFA) works wonders.
