Can you out-exercise a bad diet?
“Eat healthy”, “Exercise everyday”,etc. are statements which are easy to say but only that tough to follow in real life, they do not state practicality, so what should be done more- exercise or diet?
For starters, both fitness and food choices are vital for long-term weight control. Secondly, research and scientists have learnt that to keep the pounds from piling up, the food choices we make may be more important than the amount of exercise we’re doing. It’s much easier to cut calories than burn them.A usual phenomenon observed –When people want to lose weight they either diet or choose to exercise! It’s important to note that diet and exercise go hand in hand, it is not an ‘either/or’ choice.Weight loss is 70% of diet and 30 % of exercise!
EMBRACE EXERCISE!
While it’s clear that making healthy food choices gives faster weight loss, it would be foolish to only eat right and not exercise!
Hitting the gym for an hour or indulging in outdoor/indoor workouts also works wonders! Have a good blend of all four types of exercise (Endurance, Strength, Cardio and Flexibility) which would give more benefits and also cuts out the monotony.
Here are some no-instrument needing and do-able exercises:
- Jumping jacks
- Stair climbing
- Jogging
- Lunges
- Push-ups
The benefits of both, diet and exercise are different and incomparable. A few benefits of diet are mentioned below:
Reduces risk of disease like Type 2 Diabetes, High blood pressure, Colon/Breast Cancer Maintains a healthy weight
Increases energy levels
Enhances immunity levels
Good for the heart
DO DIET!
Weight loss and weight gain revolve around caloric consumption and expenditure. Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activity, your diet can help you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer), and promote your overall health.Have a balanced diet with all nutrients in proportionate amounts which are essential for the growth and maintenance of organs.
THE LAST WORD
So, as you have understood, the thumb rule for weight loss is-70% diet and 30% exercise! It does not work alone.Weight is lost in the kitchen, but health is gained in the gyms! a
